A quick look at our area and  a review of The Black Sheep Wine and Beer Store in the recent article called “48 hours in Brunswick and Harpswell” by Managing Editor, Katy Kelleher, in Maine Magazine , April, 2014 issue.

New Arrivals

Unlike the chain stores we have relationships with suppliers of limited production wines ; we enjoy discovering " hidden gems" to share with you. We always have a few new tasty arrivals on hand!
Spring and Fall are our scouting seasons, and we'll be attending all the industry wine tastings, carefully selecting the wines we like, and pouring those in our upcoming tastings. We will let you know what we find and what will be added to our inventory.

Outstanding New Beers:

We rotate our stock to reflect the season, but we try to stock the shelves with these brands :Off Color, Against the Grain,Deciduous,Evil Twin,Banded Horn, Oxbow,Breckenridge, Green Flash  Stillwater Artisinal, Foundation,Marshall Wharf, Allagash,Moat Mountain, Tuckerman's, Sebago, Penobscot Bay Brewery, Rising Tide,Baxter,Funky Bow,Rising Tide,Geaghan Brothers,Peak Organic,Sheepscot,Sea Dog ,Atlantic ,21st Amendment ,Ballast Point, Oskar Blues, Founders, White Birch, Smuttynose, Thirsty Dog ,North Coast,Spaten-Brau,New Belgium and more...

Right now we are loving the fresh Maine Craft beer scene. Over 90 breweries call Maine home and they are all unique. It's ever-changing and collaborative. We snag what we can so stop in and check out our rotating selection!

The stellar dark wheat Odyssey, one of John’s all time favorite Maine beers ( this one is very limited) is aged in oak barrels and improves with some ageing.

Each year, during the spring and fall we offer our end of season specials.

New vintages replace the old ones and sometimes new wine labels replace lesser wines on our limited shelf space. We pass the savings on to you - incredible values at no risk.

We offer handpicked wines on sale weekly, look in our wooden cases for bargains .

These are great bargains that also deliver on taste! When they're gone, they're gone, so check it out now, while the supply lasts.

John VerPlanck is an author as well as a wine and beer store owner. He has two novels in print: Pacific Air 55 Is Missing and it's sequel, Tailwind, which are both available at our store. John will sign your copy if you like. Both novels have ties to the airline industry and involve a mystery:a crime, six friends and a fast-paced international cat and mouse chase.
